Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Lean Excel Solutions ("we", "our", or "us") handles personal data for:
- the website at leanexcel.com, and
- the Lean Operations Monitor Microsoft Excel add-in (free calculators and optional Lean Ops Pro).
Lean Excel Solutions is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact details are at the end of this page.
1. Workbook data
The add-in runs as a task pane inside Microsoft Excel. OEE, takt, Pareto, and related calculations run in your Excel session. We do not upload worksheet cell values, file names, or folder paths to our servers for analysis.
Free calculators (OEE, Takt Time, Pareto) work without an account. Microsoft AppSource shows a standard "Can send data over the Internet" label for web-based Office Add-ins because the task pane loads over HTTPS and Pro sign-in and billing use our services.
2. Accounts and Lean Ops Pro
If you subscribe to Lean Ops Pro, you sign in with Microsoft, Google, or email so we can authenticate you and unlock paid features. We may store:
- Email address and authentication user id
- Subscription status and related identifiers from our billing partner
- A session token in the Excel task pane's local storage until you sign out
We do not sell personal information.
3. Payments
Lean Ops Pro is sold by Paddle.com Market Limited (and/or affiliates) as Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payment details, tax invoices, and billing communications under Paddle's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store full card numbers. We receive limited subscription information (status, plan, identifiers, period end) so we can unlock Pro in the add-in.

4. This website
If you use the support form, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can reply. Hosting may produce standard server logs (for example IP address and request time).
5. Processors
- Supabase — authentication and subscription entitlement records for Pro.
- Paddle — checkout, tax, invoices, and the customer billing portal.
- Microsoft — optional Microsoft sign-in and Office.js for Excel.
- Google — optional Google sign-in; Google Fonts on this website; YouTube if you load the homepage video embed.
- Transactional email — sign-up, sign-in codes, and password-reset messages.
- Vercel — hosts the website and add-in web files.
- Web3Forms — processes support-form submissions.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set first-party advertising cookies. The add-in may use local storage in the task pane to keep you signed in. Sign out from Account to clear that session data.
Third parties on this website may process limited technical data:
- Google Fonts — used for site typography.
- YouTube — the homepage overview video is an embed. Loading Home can send data to Google/YouTube. You can watch the same video on YouTube instead.
7. Retention
- Support messages: kept as long as needed to respond, and not longer than 12 months unless we must keep them longer for a legal claim.
- Account and subscription records: while the account is active, and up to 7 years afterward where tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention rules require it.
- Payment data: held by Paddle under Paddle's policies.
We do not currently collect product-usage analytics from the add-in (for example how often a calculator is opened). Hosting logs are separate, as described above.
8. Your rights
If you are in the EEA or United Kingdom, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, export, restrict, or object to certain processing. Email hello@leanexcel.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within one month.
We process account and billing data to provide the subscription (contract), to run the website and keep it secure (legitimate interests), and where you choose to contact us or sign in (consent or contract, as applicable).
California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information we hold. We do not sell personal information and will not treat you differently for exercising those rights.
9. International transfers
We are based in India. Using the website or add-in may involve processors in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Those processors apply their own transfer safeguards where required.
10. Children
These are workplace productivity tools. They are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Security
The add-in and website are served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version on this page with a revised effective date.
