Two-minute walkthrough of the free tools and optional Lean Ops Pro.

Three free calculators. No login.

Your data never leaves your workbook for these tools.

Start here

OEE Calculator

Enter planned time, downtime, cycle time, and counts. See Availability, Performance, Quality, and OEE — then export a clean report to Excel.

Takt Time

Convert shift length, breaks, and customer demand into seconds per unit and units per hour — the pace the line needs to hold.

Pareto Chart

Enter or import category counts, find the vital few defects or losses, and write the table plus cumulative percent back to your sheet.

Built for people who already live in spreadsheets

Plant supervisors and CI engineers — not a new software project.

Plant supervisor

Production logs and OEE live in separate files — downtime reasons are hard to track shift to shift.

Use free OEE and Pareto in Excel, then Lean Ops Pro for structured production and downtime logs with reliability analytics.

CI / lean engineer

You already work in Excel and do not want a second MES just to see OEE and losses.

Keep the workbook as the system of record. Free calculators need no login; Pro unlocks logs and analytics when you are ready.

Excel monitoring — not a MES project

Use it when you want practical OEE and losses in the file you already keep — without moving immediately to a dedicated MES.

  • Workbook stays the system of record
  • Free OEE, takt, and Pareto with no account
  • Analysis runs in your Excel session
  • Not real-time machine connectivity

Install in three steps

AppSource is the supported path. Sideload stays on the docs page for testers.

Step 1

Get it on AppSource

Install Lean Operations Monitor from Microsoft AppSource. The add-in is free to install.

Step 2

Open the Lean Ops tab

In Excel, look for the Lean Ops ribbon — not only a button on Home. Click OEE Calculator first.

Step 3

Run OEE in the task pane

The pane opens beside your workbook. No account. Export the report when you are ready.

Optional later

Need logs and reliability? Lean Ops Pro

After the free calculators, subscribe from Account in the add-in when you want a structured plant system. The workbook stays the working data source.

  • Setup — plant profile, shifts, loss categories
  • Reference Data — work centers, machines, rates
  • Logs — production, planned and unplanned stops
  • Analytics — OEE from logs, losses, MTTR/MTBF

Questions before you install

Yes. OEE, Takt Time, and Pareto stay free with no account. Install from Microsoft AppSource and start on the Home screen.
Usually no for a personal install from AppSource. Rolling the add-in out to an entire Microsoft 365 tenant typically needs an admin.
Workbook analysis for OEE, takt, and Pareto runs in your Excel session. We do not upload cell values for that analysis. If you later use Lean Ops Pro, logs and reference data stay in your workbook.
Yes on Microsoft 365 Excel for Windows, Mac, and Excel on the web. After install, use the Lean Ops ribbon tab.
No. It is production monitoring inside Excel — not a cloud MES, not real-time machine connectivity, and not an ERP replacement.
An optional upgrade after you install. It adds plant Setup, Reference Data, daily production and downtime Logs, and Analytics from those logs. Free calculators stay free. Subscribe from Account in the add-in.
